The client meets with the general contractor to discuss their project goals, budget, timeline, and any specific requirements or preferences.
If needed, the client works with the general contractor and/or an architect/designer to develop plans and designs for the project. This may involve multiple iterations and revisions until the client is satisfied with the proposed vision.
The general contractor provides the client with a detailed cost estimate for the project based on the agreed-upon design and scope of work. This includes labor, materials, permits, and any other associated costs.
Once the client approves the proposal and budget, they sign a contract with the general contractor, outlining the terms and conditions of the project, including payment schedules, timelines, and responsibilities of both parties.
The general contractor manages all aspects of the construction process, including scheduling and coordinating subcontractors, overseeing work progress, ensuring quality control, and addressing any issues or changes that arise.
Once construction is finished, the general contractor conducts a final walkthrough with the client to ensure that all work meets expectations and is completed to satisfaction. Any remaining tasks or touch-ups are addressed before the client officially accepts the project.
